Sonja graduated from the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff with a 1st class BSc (Hons) Podiatry degree. She worked in the NHS in South Wales before moving into private practice in order to specialise in the field of musculoskeletal biomechanics. She provides Podiatry and Chiropody services at the Abbey Clinic.
Sonja originally trained as a professional dancer and graduated with a Bachelor of Performing Arts Dance degree from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in 1998. This background has given her a special interest in injury rehabilitation and her research experience includes working alongside some of the UK’s leading dance companies including Rambert Dance Company.
Sonja is also an experienced sports massage therapist and has worked with athletes of all levels from elite to amateur including an appearance on ITV’s Celebrity Fit Club.
Sonja enjoys keeping active and aside from dance, her interests include skiing, snowboarding and cycling.
