Soraya is the new Nutritionist at The Abbey Clinic.

Soraya studied at Southampton University, well renowned for its training and medical research. Soraya gained her BSc in Human Nutrition gaining a “Fast Track Award” into the Nutrition Society with whom she is now registered. During her time at Southampton, Soraya performed laboratory research and co-authored a paper on cholesterol and the negative inflammatory response it caused, predisposing men to heart disease and diabetes. The paper was published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

Having worked in a hospital environment and an international health care company, Soraya continued her studies at London Metropolitan University taking her MSc in Public Health Nutrition, during this time producing substantial research on the current issue on how to improve food labelling to enable the public to make informed choices.

Soraya addresses all forms of nutritionally related health issues, covering a very wide spectrum of conditions and age groups. Soraya has been featured in health articles in newspapers and magazines providing case studies and expert advice. Soraya has worked with patients suffering with conditions ranging from Poly Cystic Ovary syndrome to Chronic Arthritis, as well as enhancing performance with athletes using sports nutrition.

Soraya has many contacts with researchers across the country therefore her advice and knowledge is based on the latest evidence. She is passionate about her subject and is enthusiastic to help anyone ready to make a change for the better.
