Updated Abbey Clinic Patient Journey

Updated Abbey Clinic Patient Journey

03 September 2021

The Patient Journey

  • Before attending the clinic, you must fill in and return/e-mail our Coronavirus Patient Consent Form back to the clinic. If it has been sent to you, please complete it at home if possible and bring it to your appointment or return it to us by e-mail.
  • Telephone Health Screening will be used for all new and returning patients.  If you have been out of the country in the previous 14 days, have you followed government guidelines on your return, for the country you have visited? Also, on the day of your appointment, if you or any of your household show signs of infection, please contact us at the clinic and let us know.
  • If it is appropriate, video consultations are still possible with some of the practitioners, if you would like more information about this, please call us to discuss it.
  • Appointment times - between appointments Practitioners will allow time to clean all equipment used and put on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • We will only allow 1 person in the treatment room at a time, the only exception to this is anyone under 16 or those with special needs who may need a chaperone or carer present. For anyone having to wait there is a lovely café on site in the main sports complex.
  • On arrival, please walk around to the back of the clinic and check in at the office window so we can mark you here on the diary. Waiting areas - you can then either choose to wait under the Gazebo in the garden or enter the building by the front door and sit inside in the waiting room.  Where possible please keep your distance from other clients.  Your clinician will collect you.
  • Following professional guidelines, we are continuing with the wearing masks within the clinic, please bring a mask with you to wear inside the clinic (if necessary, we can provide you with one, please ask on arrival) and your Practitioner will ask you to sanitise your hands on arrival in the clinical area
  • We ask that you allow your therapist to open all doors during your appointment (as appropriate) and any equipment used will be cleaned down after use.
  • Once your appointment is finished, your clinician will show you to reception, there your next appointment will be booked, and payment taken. We would prefer a card payment where possible.
  • Once you have finished, please let leave via the front door.
  • Please be assured that The Abbey Clinic will follow all the Public Health England guidelines regarding cleaning and PPE and where possible still adhere to social distancing guidelines.
