Qualifications: BACP, Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Qualified Counsellors
I am Person Centred Counsellor registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). This new accredited register for psychological therapists was set up with the Department of Health. I have also completed a qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. As a member of the BACP and British Association for the Person Centred Approach (BAPCA) I adhere to their ethical framework and professional standards.
My continued professional development covers many areas including; depression or unhappiness, anxiety, panic, self-esteem, relationship counselling, anger management, exam stress, young people, eating distress and bereavement. I have a particular interest with people who have a chaotic relationship with food and are struggling with weight, regardless of age.
I am working with a range of organisations including the NHS, local GP surgeries, Link Youth Counselling and residential care homes. This work covers many areas including cancer patient support, youth counselling and support for people caring for relatives with long term illnesses such as Alzheimer's.
I have a special interest in swimming, cycling, running and triathlons and understand the psychological discipline needed to succeed in these areas.
