Qualified at King's College Hospital in 1984 as a Chartered Physiotherapist
Sue worked in the NHS to the level of Superintendent IV Physiotherapist, specialising in musculo-skeletal outpatients. She also took a couple of years out to travel around the globe, gaining more physiotherapy experience in Australia and New Zealand, along with other life experiences.
Sue has always been interested in sport, both as a working practitioner and a keen participant.
Sue started working with athletes at Crystal Palace, having also worked with hockey, rugby, soccer, and badminton clubs, as well as Wessex & National Volleyball squads. Her main interest and expertise are in tennis. Sue has worked at Wimbledon, and travelled extensively around the world for the ITF and WTA (Women's Tennis Association), devising and setting up a therapeutic exercise programme for them. This included working with all the top women players on the tour at the time. She also enjoys working with young up and coming athletes and believes in working towards prevention and performance enhancement as well as settling presenting problems.
Sue lived in Cape Town whilst working for the WTA, finding some spare time to help rescue oil- stricken penguins, literacy classes, house building in the Townships and rescuing stray animals
Sue has always participated in an intense & varied continuing education programme. Her skill base includes joint mobilisations and manipulations, soft tissue techniques including myofascial release work, electrotherapy, taping, acupuncture, Pilates and exercise programmes with their progression. Sue uses JEM's based progressions and now see patients with vestibular and BPPV problems.
